McDonald’s Customer Arrested for Filling Water Cup With Soda
The Coke's on him.
Police in Springdale, Ark. arrested 18-year-old Cody Morris after a wild series of events that began when he was caught filling a water cup he got at McDonald's with soda earlier this week.
Here's how it all went down. The restaurant's manager called cops to report a robbery after three people in a car went to the drive-thru and asked for three large waters. Then, they walked inside the establishment and used the cups to help themselves to some soda.
The manager confronted the trio and demanded they return the drinks. Two of them obliged, so the manager then went outside and stood behind their car in an attempt to prevent them from leaving.
The driver -- believed to be Morris -- put the car in reverse and hit the manager, who wound up getting hit again when he made a play for the keys that were in the ignition.
Authorities later found the car, which belongs to Morris, and arrested him. He was charged with felony robbery.
All for some free soda (which would probably be a bonus if you get in on those all-you-can-eat fries).
The Springdale Police Department is not pleased with the media coverage of the story, so it took to social media to set the record straight.
