In the wake of the terrorist attacks in Paris on Friday night, ISIS is believed to have released a video announcing their intention to execute similar plots on American soil — in Washington specifically. Authorities are not yet certain about the authenticity of the video, about whether those men appearing in it actually are members of the so-called Islamic State, the perpetrators of the Paris attacks.

A man identified as Al-Karar al-Iraqi says in the video, “So we say to countries that are participating in the crusader campaign [against Islamic State], God willing, like France's, and by God, as we struck France in the center of its abode then we swear that we will strike America at its center in Washington."

A spokesman for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security briefly discussed the threats with Reuters, saying, "While we take all threats seriously, we do not have specific credible information of an attack on the U.S. homeland."

The video also issues threats to European countries involved in fighting against ISIS. "I say to the European countries that we are coming, coming with booby traps and explosives, coming with explosive belts and (gun) silencers and you will be unable to stop us because today we are much stronger than before," says the fighter.
