Live TV doesn't get much more dramatic than this.

Michigan father Charles Bothuell was blindsided Wednesday when Nancy Grace informed him during a live interview that his missing son had been found in the basement of his home.

Bothuell’s son, 12, had been missing for 11 days:

After learning of the stunning development, Bothuell couldn’t quite grasp the news:

I checked my basement. The FBI checked my basement. The police checked my basement. My wife checked my basement. I’ve been down there several times. We’ve all been checking."

Police had searched the home four times before the boy was found and aren't sure if he was there any of those times, leading to a mystery over how he wound up in the basement.

As for Bothuell, he denies any allegation that he was aware his son was being kept hidden, saying, "For anybody to imply that I somehow knew my son was in the basement is absurd and wrong. I love my son. I'm glad that he's home."
