Marco Rubio Falls Flat With Obama ‘Fiction’ Comment That He Said Over and Over and Over

Marco Rubio was more like Marco Repeat-io during Saturday night’s Republican presidential debate.

The Florida senator said a twist of the same line — “Let’s dispel with this fiction that Barack Obama doesn’t know what he’s doing. He knows exactly what he’s doing.” — four times during the event, prompting New Jersey Governor Chris Christie to call him out on it.

After he repeated it for a third time, Christie blasted him for it, saying, “There it is. The memorized 25-second speech.”

And by the time Rubio went for it a fourth time, the audience turned on him like a headlining band that walks off the stage after two songs.

Rubio doesn’t seem to mind the hit he’s taking for his choice of words, though. He told ABC’s This Week on Sunday, “Actually, I would pay them to keep running that clip, because that’s what I believe passionately.”

Despite the negative publicity, Rubio continued to embrace it while in New Hampshire Sunday. According to MSNBC, he said, “It’s interesting that right now, after last night’s debate, ‘Oh, you said the same things three or four times?’ I’m gonna say it again. The reason why things are in trouble is because Barack Obama is the first president, at least in my lifetime, that wants to change the country, change the country, not fix it its problems.”
